April Featured Stamper

Hi everyone - I hope you have enjoyed looking at the new releases, I think the tea pot set is going to be one of my faves!!

Today we're delighted to introduce you to our first Featured Stamper - Suezie Howard from Suffolk, UK. Suezie contacted us to show us the fabulous mini album picured below made with the Garden of Life set. Her blog Nothin Says Lovin is full of fabulous Papertrey projects - be sure to check it out!!

Here are a few questions we asked Suezie:

- How long have you been stamping for?

I've been collecting stamps forever but only considered myself a stamper for past 2-3 years.

- When did you discover Papertrey?

I first discovered PTI when they were only a fledgling company while surfing the net and they only had a very small number of sets - one look was all it took!

- What is your favourite PTI set?

Little Lady (Vol 1 #5) is my favourite by far and the one I go back to again and again. The simplicity of the design - of all the designs actually - and the way they allow the stamper to add their own elements in colour and design when layering them up take them to another level beyond most other stamps.

- Who is your Papertrey stamping idol?!

I started following Lauren Meader long before she became a designer for PTI and I still do - she is such a creative lady and so inspiring she always makes me want to go grab a stamp set and start creating too!

- What is your papercrafting dream?

Now that I have achieved the dream of teaching crafts for my local college I want to move on to see my work published in a magazine somewhere.

Thanks Suezie! And here are a few samples of her fabulous work!

I love all the details on this mini album:

Look at this fabulous card Suezie made with the Little Lady set:

And my favourite - check out the fabulous background paper Suezie stamped with the Spiral Bouquet and Faux Ribbon set:

And finally make sure to check out her great tutorial on how to make sticky note holder stamped with the Little Lady set!

Thank you so much Suezie for being our April Featured Stamper - we've really enjoyed getting to know you and your work!

Thanks for visiting - we'll be back soon!

Easter blessings

I love designing a card and then re-making it in other colour-ways - that's when PTI's fab matchy card, ink and ribbons really come into their own! The only thing I did have to do to make each card truly match (cos I can't bear it if it doesn't lol!) was to colour some brads with my Copic markers - voila! Perfectly co-ordinated with PTI colours!

Unfortunately the picture doesn't show up all the stamped crosses very well but they're better IRL.

Colours used were Berry Sorbet, Ocean Tides, Spring Moss, Aqua Mist, Lavender Moon and Summer Sunrise.

Here's the Berry Sorbet version:

Thanks for visiting - I hope you have a great (and stampy!) weekend!

shabby mother's day card

This is the card I made for my mum for Mother's Day - she's a historian so loves anything with a vintage feel. In an Antiques Market I found an Edwardian Mother's Day card which I gave to her along with this card, and a history book she wanted.

I stamped one of the individual damask stamps from Dawn McVey's fabulous Damask Designs set with Sweet Blush ink on Vintage Cream cardstock. I repeatedly stamped the XOs from the Heart Prints set for the horizontal layer, then stamped, punched out and layered some hearts from the same set.

Finally I distressed the edges, sponged on some Antique Linen Distress Ink, added some Sweet Blush Grosgrain ribbon, pom-poms, a button and pearls. Quite a different look from the one layer cards!

Thanks for visiting and don't forget our current challenge ;)
