A Winner! - Thank You challenge

Just popping to announce the winner of our last challenge and to showcase the top three as picked by us APFP girlies!

So without further ado, here is the random winner of the $5 PTI gift certificate................

Random number....................... 5 which means SAM is our lucky winner.

Please email us your address and details Sam and we'll send the GC deets out to you.

Now onto our Top 3 Passionistas.

First up happens to be our winner Sam!

We loved the simple style and bold use of white space - simple yet elegant - lovely colouring on those acorns too!

Secondly is Kirsty.

We loved how Kirsty stamped the butterflies onto bookprint and gave them life by layering them - stunning.

And last but not least is Camilla

The idea to use different panels of woodgrain gives this card a lovely weathered look and the sentiment across the bottom looks perfect.

Well done ladies - you are all Papertrey Passionistas!!

We are having a few issues with our blinkie at the moment so don't despair if you can't get the code to work properly for you at the moment - I know some have emailed us about it!  As part of our new-look blog design which is currently "under construction" the blinkie will be rewritten and as soon as it is ready we'll have it available to all!

Pop back along later for our new challenge.

Bih hugs,

Caryn, Aimes and Kate xxx

Challenge: Thank You

Greetings all! Well you might have noticed a bit of a change here on A Passion for Papertrey, we're undergoing a re-vamp - hooray! But while we're in the process of that we're not going to be looking quite as pretty for a while so please bear with us :)

Before we get going on another challenge I wanted to share a picture with you of a special night out us APFP girls had recently. What better than cocktails with lovely friends!

Left to right: Aimes, Kate & Caryn
We met up in Manchester for a night of cocktails and giggles!

So onto an all-new challenge. If there's one type of card that I always run out of in my card stash it's Thank You cards, are you the same? If so here's your chance to replenish your stock because for this challenge we want you to create a Thank You card, or any other papercrafting project that says thanks!

Looking back through my Pinterest boards I came across a card by Maile Belles who had stamped a floral background with orange ink onto white cardstock, I was inspired to use the same idea and finished the card off with a simple sentiment and a bit of stitching.

Card Details:
Stamps: In Bloom/Think Big Favorites 2 (PTI)
Card: Stamper's Select White/Aqua Mist (PTI)
Ink: Orange Zest(PTI)/Memento Black
Other: Corner Chomper/Stitching Floss/Copic Markers

Over to Caryn:

I seem to have opted for a flowery little number too!  It definitely has a touch of Springtime even though we're very nearly into Autumn!!  I don't often venture into mixing so many colours on one card (they tend to be one or two at the most) but I love seeing other cards made with this combo so thought I'd give it a try.

Recipe {Thank You}
Stamps: Flower Fusion 11, Iconic Images, A Little Argyle.
Card: Stampers Select White, Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet, Ripe Avocado.
Ink: Spring Moss, Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz, Berry Sorbet.
Other: Line/Canvas impression plate, mat stack 4 die.

Here's Aimes:
I'm currently thinking I should have done all the work I said I'd do during the summer holidays! LOL! My body is in shock at the return to school after the summer holidays - I'll be back soon with a card though! :)

Challenge: Congrats (Team GB!)

Hello!

Welcome to a shiny new challenge here on A Passion for Papertrey!

Us gals are in a very celebratory mood after a very successful Olympics - we don't want it to end! We certainly feel very proud of Team GBs achievements so with this in mind, we're asking you to create projects with a congrats theme this fortnight.

Now don't worry, you don't have to dedicate your card to Team GB if you aren't a fan of the Olympics - just stick with the theme and use at least one PTI product to join in the fun :)

For my card I used a set that I haven't inked up for ages. Happy Trails is such a sweet set, I should give it more inky love every now and again:

Let your dreams take flight

Card Deets
{let your dreams take flight}
Stamps: Happy Trails (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black, London Fog (Memento)
Cardstock: Enchanted Evening, White (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Lemon Tart Bitty Box Basics (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Lemon Tart Grosgrain Ribbon, Linen and Canvas Impression Plate (Papertrey Ink)/Cuttlebug (Provocraft)/Copic Marker

I feel this card has a congrats theme even though the sentiment doesn't literally say 'Congrats'. I'm thinking of using this for an exam congrats or a card to celebrate the start of college/university. Oh those were the days *sigh*  LOL!

Over to Caryn:

Well this challenge made me want to reach for my Scattered Showers set - one of my all-time favourites.  This could be for a bridal shower or baby shower perhaps - or just a general congrats card!  The layout is actually from this weeks Retro Sketches challenge which you can see here.  The little fabric heart on the umbrella is actually cut from Aqua Mist grosgrain ribbon with the hearts border die - it cut surprisingly well!

Recipe: {Congratulations}
STAMPS: Scattered Showers.
INK: Aqua Mist, Ripe Avacado, Smokey Shadow.
DIES: Scattered Showers, Heart Border, Mat Stack 4, Canvas Impression Plate.
CARDSTOCK: Vintage Cream, Rustic Cream, Ripe Avacado, Green Tea Leaves pp.
OTHER: Ripe Avacado button, felt, Aqua Mist grosgrain ribbon.

Kate will be joining as soon as she has access to her crafty supplies! :)

So fancy joining in the fun with us? One randomly selected peep will win a $5 PTI Gift Certificate!

Here are the deets - check 'em out before you ink along with us! :)

* Enter as any times as you wish! All entries must contain at least one PTI product to qualify and can cater for as many different challenges as you please! (please state what is PTI as sometimes it's hard for us to see...)

Hello one and all and welcome to a spanking (yes, I have been reading FSOG) new challenge here at A Passion For Papertrey.  This time we're asking you to Take Your Pick from the many (or few) PTI supplies you have and come up with something fabulous!!  It doesn't just have to be a card - as long as you've got some PTI lovliness in there somewhere we'll be happy!!

This year I was able to make great use of my alphabet dies when making my Thank You Teacher cards. I have realised though that I really do need to order the upper case set too!!!  The Fruit Fusion: Apple set also comes in very useful for these cards too!

Thank you {teacher}
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Fruit Fusion : Apple, Say It With Style.
Cardstock: Stampers select: White, Raspberry Fizz,
Ink: Spring Moss, Raspberry Fizz
Dies: Block alphabet, fruit fusion apple, framed out1

Over to Kate: "It's been a while since I had to make a baby card but some dear friends of mine recently welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world so I grabbed my Bitty Baby Blessings - can you believe I bought this when it was released in 2008!! Where does the time go?!!"

Card details:
Stamps: Bitty Baby Blessings/Think Big Favorites 5
Card: Stamper's Select White/Spring Rain
Ink: Memento Black
Other: blue gingham ribbon/Copic sketch markers

Over to Aimes: "I've been playing around with my embossing powder and heat gun to come up with a simple thank you card for my stash:

Card Deets
Stamps: Peaceful Garden (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Versamark
Cardstock: Royal Velvet, Fine Linen (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Gold Detail Embossing Powder (Stampendous)/Vintage Cream Satin Ribbon (Papertrey Ink)

Isn't it apt that I've used gold embossing powder when you think of how well Team GB are doing in the Olympics! *wink*

The prize this time is this cute little punny sentiment set: Lighten Up Sentiments

Here are all the details you'll need to know about entering:

 * Enter as any times as you wish! All entries must contain at least one PTI product to qualify and can cater for as many different challenges as you please! (please state what is PTI as sometimes it's hard for us to see...)

Number 4 which means Micholla is our lucky winner! Congrats, Micholla! Email us your postal addy and we'll get that gorgeous ribbon out to ya!

Now for our Top 3! We definitely felt the summer vibe through your wonderful entries and narrowed our choices down to the following:

Jean: A fabulous CAS design and those beautiful butterflies help to create the perfect visual triangle around the sentiment

Cassie: Wow! Cassie is really packing a punch with colour and gives her card real energy!

Nerina: What's summer without some sunshine? Well if you can't get the real deal, the sunshine on Nerina's card is the next best thing!

Congrats ladies! If you need the code for a Top 3 blinkie, then pop us an email and send it to you (bear in mind it's being slightly naughty at the moment though!)

Challenge: Summertime

Hello all and welcome to another challenge! After weeks of non-stop rain here in the UK we are rejoicing in finally having a summer - hooray! Just in time for the Olympics too!!! So to celebrate our challenge this time round is... yep, you guessed it - summertime! We'd like to see a card or other papercraft creation inspired by this fabulous season!

What is a summer's day without an ice cream?! For my sample I headed straight for my Sweet as Can Be set for a tasty treat birthday card, not sure what flavour the Hawai'in Shores scoop is though!

Card details: (all supplies PTI)
Stamps: Sweet As Can Be
Card: Stamper's Select White/Raspberry Fizz/Kraft/Summer sunrise/Hawai'in Shores
Ink: Memento Black
Other: Ric-rac border die

Over to Aimes:

Summertime to me means long happy summer holidays avoiding the 'back to school' signs in shops! Ha! But I also love to see the butterflies dancing around too and that's what inspired this card:

Butterfly Birthday2

I know you don't often see purple butterflies but this was created with a friend in mind who loves the colour! The flourish gives the butterflies movement and lets them dance across the card (well I hope it does anyway as that's what I was going for!)

Caryn is busy with her lovely family this week so I'm afraid can't join us for the challenge. We're looking forward to welcoming her back soon!

So want to see what you could win? One randomly selected winner will be the proud owner of three rolls of brand new PTI ribbon - yummy!

Simply Chartreuse, Melon Berry and Scarlet Jewel

Here are all the details you'll need to know about entering:

 * Enter as any times as you wish! All entries must contain at least one PTI product to qualify and can cater for as many different challenges as you please! (please state what is PTI as sometimes it's hard for us to see...)

It was a tough decision (as always!) to choose our top three PTI Passionistas but there are the three cards we finally narrowed it down to these fabulous cards:

We loved Pauline's pretty, shabby chic card. Those buttons are so adorable, and her perfect stitching just finishes it off!!

Jean's card is the epitomy of CAS - how great would this be for the teen boys in your life?! (I can feel some CASE-ing coming on!)

Monica's card made us want to jump online and order the Lovely Layers set! She actually made a few in different colour ways - this one was our favourite!

Congratulations ladies, if you would like to grab our blinkie please email us at apassionforpapertrey@yahoo.co.uk. Check back tomorrow for a brand new challenge!

That's right, so long as you use one Papertrey Ink product on your project (and that doesn't have to be a card - anything creative will qualify!) then you can enter it!

Over to Caryn:

I've had a run of boy's birthdays to cater for recently so thought I'd share one of the creations I made for my nephew who was turning 7.  It's simple but I know he's into his gaming so thought he's appreciate the Guitar Hero nod!

Did a slightly more colourful version too!

You Rock
{Card Deets}
Stamps: Grunge Me, Boy Basics: Rock On.
Ink: Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise (PTI), Memento (London Fog and Tuxedo Black)
Card|: Stamper's Select White.

So without further ado, the winner of a sweet stamp set is:

Here are your random numbers:
1
Timestamp: 2012-07-10 18:48:33 UTC

Congrats, Deirdre! Pop us an email and we'll get that set out to ya!

Now normally we'd pick our Top 3 PTI Passionistas, but seeing as we only had 4 entries we want to highlight every one who took the time to enter. Everyone's a winner in our Olympics! *wink*

First up we *love* these Olympic themed flip-flops by Deirdre! So trendy and so fun!

Next up is Vannessa who used the Olympic Rings and colours as inspiration for her fabulous work with Star Prints! A definite card for the guys or the gals!

Jean was also inspired by the Olympic rings and colours and substitued them for beautiful butterflies. We love the text she added to the central butterfly, providing and fabulous focal point!

And finally, but by no means least, Jenny strikes Olympic Gold with this card! We love the shimmer and shine of it!

Thank you so much, ladies for sharing your work with us - we really appreciate it! We're still having a few techincal glitches with our winning blinkie but we'd be more than happy to send you the code if you'd like to see if you can get it working! Fixing the blinkie is on our long list of things to do....please bear with us!

We hope you'll stay tuned for our new challenge coming up very soon!

When I was searching my brain for an idea I thought about the medals and how, with a bit of old fashioned Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel I could fashion my very own gold medal - the closest I will EVER get I must add!  I impressed it with the globe image from Masculine Motifs and stamped the "You Did It" sentiment from Enjoy The Ride below it.

Card Details:
Stamps: Fresh Alphabet (PTI)
Card: Stamper's Select White, Hawai'in Shore, Harvest Gold, True Black, New leaf, Pure Poppy (PTI)

Well what a week to start this challenge as the Olympic Torch makes its way through our neck of the woods on Friday! I always love to tune into the Olympics, no matter where in the world it's being hosted but there's certainly something extra-special to it when it's taking place on our doorstep *wink*

A right royal challenge

Hello and welcome to a new challenge with a royal twist! So if you live in the UK it will not have passed you by that there is a certain royal event taking place next week, towns and villages are laden with bunting and flags and everyone is getting ready for a knees-up!

So we thought we would have our own Jubilee celebrations here on the blog by asking you to make a Jubilee-themed card!

I made my card for my god-mother who moved from the UK to California 40 years but is still passionately British. I thought a Union Jack card would make her smile:

Card Details:

Challenge: Super Circles!

Hey!

Welcome to a fabulous new challenge! We hope you're ready to ink along with us! :)

This fortnight we're honouring the most super of shapes - the circle! We know, we know: hexagons might be so on trend right now, but circles still rock! Afterall, a hexagon is just a circle with straight edges and points, right? *wink*

So my brain got tickin' for this challenge and I started stamping the circular image from Daily Designs. I wondered what pattern I'd end up with if I rotated the circle through 360 degrees....

Voila!

This pattern reminds me of one Christmas as a kid when I went crazy over my new toy: Spirograph! Did you ever have one of these? I used to make so many patterns with that baby and pin them on my pinboard to admire :)

If you're a visual learner, then here's a peek at how I stamped that image:

Spirograph, stamping stylee! I like it! :)

Over to Caryn...

Well I decided to go punchy with my card and broke open my Raspberry Fizz patterned papers and paired them with the Aqua Mist ones.  It was a simple case of punching circles from different papers and then layering them up to give this scalloped effect.  I die cut the letter from the block alphabet die and adhered them to a strip of AM card stock and that was it.

Here's Kate: "I had a real urge to stamp a circle background for my card so used my Mehndi Medallion set - technically some of them aren't true circles but hey! I'm loving this combination of Melon Berry, Aqua Mist and Harvest Gold!"

Card details: (PTI unless stated otherwise)
Stamps: Fillable Frames 1/Mehdni Medallion
Ink: Melon Berry/Harvest Gold/Aqua Mist
Card: Stamper's Select White
Other: Fillable Frames 1 die/Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers)/Aqua Mist button
