Which is Angélique! Congrats Angélique! Email us your postal addy with the subject of your email as 'winner' and we'll get that prize out to ya!

And now for our Top 3. Well firstly, thank you to everyone who managed to enter regardless of the fact that I forgot to put a linky thingy at the bottom of the challenge post (trust me, these last two weeks have been manic!) and apologies that we haven't had time to get around you all. We really appreciate your entries and these 3 entries really stood out to us:

We loved Emma's use of those sweet birdhouses as a home for this fabulous, soft and pretty card!
Angélique kept it beautifully CAS with her card as well as incorporating a lovely, fresh colour combo!
Shannon packed a punch with her lamps with this clever design that coordinates perfectly with the punny sentiment!

Congrats ladies! If you would like a blinkie to blink with pride as a Top 3 PTI Passionista then pop us an email with 'Blinkie' as your subject!

Thanks once again to everyone who participates and joins in the inky fun with us on A Passion for Papertrey! I hope you can stay tuned for our new challenge that will be 'knocking' around here very soon *wink*

Challenge: House and Home.

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest challenge on A Passion for Papertrey.  This time our theme is "House and Home" so it's wide open for your interpretation.  It doesn't need to be a "new home" card - just feature something home-related!

I immediately thought of the wee house from the Love Lives Here die collection.  I think it's my favourite of those dies - although the butterfly is pretty cute too!!  My favourite all time colour combo of Pure Poppy and Simply Chartreuse appears here again (have to fight my urge to use it on EVERY card!!).  I hope it doesn't look too Christmassy!!

Caryn
Happy For You
{Recipe}
Stamps: Enjoy The Ride, Iconic Images, Background Basics: Gingham.
Ink: Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate
Card: Rustic Cream, Kraft, Simply Chartreuse, Vintage Ctream.
Dies: Mat Stack 4, Mat Stack 4 layerz, Love Lives Here Collection
Ribbon:  Simply Chartreuse Saddle Stich ribbon, Pure Poppy twine
Other: Nestabilities, MS punch.

Over to Aimes
"Now for this challenge I couldn't resist my polka dot couch from On My Couch Additions. I also jumped on the Neon trend bandwagon too. Warning: 80's alert coming right up!

Aimes
Card Deets
Stamps: On My Couch Additions, Everyday Button Bits, Daily Designs Sentiments (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: London Fog, Tuxedo Black (Memento)/Bubblegum (a muse)
Cardstock: White, True Black (Papertrey Ink)

Now there is something kinda clever that I like about this card. You see that lamp behind the sofa? (stamped using a masking technique) Well that's no ordinary lamp. Nope! In fact it's actually the topiary plant pot from Everyday Button Bits stamped upside down! Love it when I can get more stamp for my pennies :) "

Unfortunately Kate is totally snowed under with work this week and won't be joining us - don't forget to take a break Kate - we'll want you back and crafting again next time!!!

Sooooooo, what's up for grabs this time around I hear you shout!  It's this cute little stamp set,  Boy Basics: Simple Circles.

Colour Pop Challenge!

Hi all! Welcome to another challenge! We've got a classy one for you this time - we want you to make a card, or other paper-crafting project, using black, a white and a pop of colour.... very classy don't you think?!

Now, looking at the cards we three A Passion for Papertrey girls have come up with (with no consultation!) you might think it has to be pink but it certainly doesn't! You can use whatever colour you like!

I used a negative die cut for my card, I wanted to emboss the front of the card but I somehow managed to mis-place one of my Cuttlebug plates so had to leave it clean. Typically I found it straight after I'd adhered the main panel to the card!

Card details:
Stamps: Friends Til The End
Card: Stampers Select White/Basic Black
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Bitty Dots 2009
Dies: Double Ended Banner/Love Lives Here
Other: Corner Chomper, adhesive gems, copic marker

Over to Caryn:

"I had a great time with this card - I had to try and make something whilst sharing my small desk with three of the children who had the laptop on it and their drinks, cupcakes , sticky fingers, yada, yada....
Anyhoo, this is what I managed to produce from beneath the rubble that was my desk when they finally departed!! I used the Beautiful Blooms II set that hasn't seen daylight for some time and the new True Black ink - OMG it stamps so well!! My splash of colour is Raspberry Fizz - yum!"

{Recipe}
Stamps: Beautiful Blooms II, Say It With Style.
Card: Stampers Select, Bazzill Raven
Ink: True Black, Raspberry Fizz
Ribbon: Top Notch Twill (Raspberry Fizz)
Other: Mega Mat Stack 4 die.

Over to Aimes:
"Oooh I do love this design theory of contrasting a pop of colour against a black and white design. I'm normally a sucker for using red for this technique but I couldn't resist trying out my new PTI Raspberry Fizz die ink:

Card Deets
{Hello Friend}
Stamps: Rosie Posie, Modern Basics (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz Ink (Papertrey Ink)/London Fog, Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock: White and True Black (Papertrey Ink)

This super-flat and super simple card uses a simple masking technique and features stamps from Rosie Posie. The sentiment comes from my beloved Modern Basics :)"

Here's what you could win! It's the super-cute Heart-2-Heart set:

Here are the challenge deets:

Challenge: Needle and Thread

Hello and welcome to a new challenge!

This fortnight we want to see what you can rustle up when faced with the words, "Needle and Thread." I have to admit that I freaked at these words at first, but once you think about it, this challenge is open to lots of cheating interpretation....*wink*

Now I was not about to get reacquainted with Machiney (my neglected sewing machine): my time restraints and our explosive love/hate relationship meant I had to save a date with Machiney for another time. However, I did still use a needle and thread for my card:

Card Deets
{Love You}
Stamps: Sentiment from Modern Basics (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Twine (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Baker's Twine (Papertrey Ink)

Well I guess it's still using a needle and thread if you substitute needle for paper piercer and thread for baker's twine that is! :)

Over to Kate: "You know the great thing about challenges? They make you dig out sets you'd totally forgotten about! As I was rooting through my PTI sets looking for some inspiration for this challenge I came across my Studio Style and Quilter's Sampler sets - unused for (ahem) a very long time! I had such fun with card, CAS, lots of white and zingy colours - my favourite things!"

Card Details:
Stamps: Studio Style/Quilters Sampler (PTI)
Card: Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz/Summer Sunrise/Hawai'in Shores/Basic Black (PTI)
Other: Corner Chomper/Small Labels Die (PTI)

Over to Caryn:

Well I have to agree with Kate - this challenge got me reaching for sets that haven't seen the light of day for some time! My sewing machine has somehow been relegated to the loft (thanks darling husband!) so I decided to rely on the "faux stitching" technique for my card. I also MADE myself step away from my comfort zone colours (pure poppy, raspberry fizz, aqua mist) and went for Berry Sorbet.

{Card deets} - All PTI (unless otherwise stated)
Stamps: Wonderfully Whimsical
Card: Berry Sorbet, Vintage Cream
Ink: Smokey Shadow
Other: Promarkers, Berry Sorbet Satin Dots ribbon, Take Three die, butterfly punch, white gel pen.

So are you ready to join in the fun? We hope so! Up for grabs for one randomly selected European peep is this sweet stamp set:

And don't forget to check out the deets before you play along:

* Enter as any times as you wish! All entries must contain at least one PTI product to qualify and can cater for as many different challenges as you please! (please state what is PTI as sometimes it's hard for us to see...)

* To enter, use our inlinkz thingy at the bottom of this post. Please leave the correct URL for your entry post and not just your generic blog address! If you're having problems then just leave a comment with a link to your post featuring the project on your blog or online gallery.

* Worldwide entries are more than welcome to share the inspiration and can be in with a chance of being a Top 3 PTI Passionista, but unfortunately prizes can only be shipped within Europe!

* Challenge closes on Monday, March 5th 2012 at 9.00am GMT

* As well as a randomly picked winner, we'll select the top three creations we like the most and feature them on the Blog. The top three PTI Passionistas will have chance to display a Top 3 Passionista Blinkie on their own blog.

We can wait to see what those words inspire you to create!

A Winner (Finally!)

Hello and happy Shrove Tuesday! I'm so sorry that we've been busy flipping and scoffin' pancakes that our winners post is a bit late! *wink*

Thank you to everyone who joined us with our love for stripes; we loved your creative approaches to stripes - from paper piecing stripy paper, to creating your own stripes with stamps - genius!

Well enough babbling as we're late revealing a winner already!

Do your thing, Random.org:

Here are your random numbers:

12

Timestamp: 2012-02-21 22:27:47 UTC

Number 12 means that Karen M is our winner! Congrats, Karen! Email us your postal addy to apassionforpapertrey(at)yahoo(dot)com with the subject Winner, and we'll get your prize out to ya!

And now for our Top 3. Well I know we say it every time, but it really was tough to narrow it down to just 3; not only due to the fabulous amount of entries we had, but also due to all of the different ways in which you all so cleverly incorporated stripes! After much deliberation, we decided on the following:

We loved Sue's creative approach to stripes by using a scalloped border pattern! Not only that - but the fun colour combo certainly gives this card some oomph as well! :)

Karen's sweetly paper-pieced striped houses gave us that warm, homely feeling that the card intends to do. We love the mix of both straight lines and chevron lines - rocking the lines at both angles!

Finally we totally fell for Jenny's striped tea-pot! So sweet! And not only that - but Jenny also cleverly incorporated stripes twice more by paper-piecing a fabulous gingham-style tablecloth for that sweet teapot and using the linen and canvas impression plate for the background to compliment the tablecloth!

Congrats, ladies! If you haven't got one already, drop us an email with the subject Winner for a Top 3 blinkie to blink with pride on your blog!

Now due to the late nature of this post - our challenge is going to schedule a day later too. Stay tuned tomorrow to find out what it is...!

Challenge - Stripes

Hello all and welcome to another challenge at A Passion For Papertey. We had a lovely selection of cards to choose from in our book-themed challenge - some very clever ideas came out!!

This time we're asking you to make a card or project which showcases some form of STRIPES! You could use patterned paper, card, stamps, ribbon - what ever takes your fancy! Can't wait to see what you all come up with this time round.

Caryn, Kate and Aimes.

First up is Caryn...
I was totally influenced this week by the current Tuesday Trigger Challenge over on Moxie Fab World. They have a yummy picture of a cake and I was inspired to use that as my starting point. This is what I came up with:
{Recipe} Hi
CS: Dark chocolate, Hibiscus Burst, Vintage Cream
Tools: Seeing stars dies, Block Alphabet dies, Linen/Canvas Impression plate
Ribbon: Top Notch Twill (Dark Chocolate, Sweet Blush), Solid Satin (Hibiscus Burst, Dark Chocolate), Swiss Dot (Berry Sorbet)

Funnily enough this card was made without any stamps or ink!! It's a totally tool-based card!

Over to Kate:

"I chose to make that ever-difficult card - one for the boys! I used the Chevron Stripes set to make the striped background, wow that set is so much fun to use. I hope you have as much fun with your stripes as I did!"

Card Details:
Stamps: Chevron Stripes/Fillable Frames 1
Card: Basic Black/Kraft/Vintage Cream
Ink: Basic Black/Pure Poppy/Spring Rain
Other: Fillable Frames Die 1/Border Punch

Aimes is trapped in some remote part of ice-stricken England at the moment and so I am posting one of her fabulous cards from her blog whilst we wait for her to defrost! She will be back sometime in the week with a new card for the challenge!

Card Deets {Many Thanks}
Stamps: Sentiment from Frame-It (Waltzingmouse Stamps)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock: White, True Black (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Butterfly Die (Papertrey Ink)/Grand Calibur, Circle Nestability (Spellbinders)/Pigment ink pen (Zig)

So what is up for grabs for a lucky random winner this time?

The stunning Mehndi Medallion stamp set (yum).

MR LINKY IS WITH AIMES SO PLEASE LEAVE A LINK TO YOUR CARD IN OUR COMMENTS SECTION AND WE WILL ADD IT TO MR LINKY WHEN HE GETS BACK!!

The all important rules:

* All entries must contain at least one PTI product to qualify (please state what is PTI as sometimes it's hard to see :D)

* All entries must be newly created (well, new to Blogland anyways!). Please don't link to old posts that might happen to fit the brief of the challenge!! Please leave a link back to this challenge on your entry too :)

A Winner

Thank you everyone who played along this last fortnight with our literary -themed challenge.  It was a little more thought-provoking than our previous challenges but as usual you stepped up to plate and gave us a wonderful mix of cards that really captured the theme of the challenge.

The randomly picked winner this time and the lucky lady wining the Flower Fusion Set is................

NUMBER 10

That means CLAIRE is our lucky lady.  Well done hun, send us your details and we'll ge the stamps off to you.

Now onto the hardest part of every challenge - narrowing the entries down to our three favourites.  Tough as it was this time - here are three Passionistas.

Maureen - What can we say about Maureens stunning card - the colours just evoke Springtime and the sentiment is simply beautiful

Monika - Monika made great use of Nichole's Make it Monday technique of the folded banner on her stunning card.  A very elegant and feminine creation.

Sue - Sue's interpretation of the cover of the fabulous "The Help" was simply inspired.  The colours make for a bold and striking card - simple yet stunning.

Well done ladies and thank you for participating.

Make sure you pop back tomorrow for a brand new challenge.  This one will be a little more "straight"forward!!

Caryn, Aimes and Kate.

Challenge: 'Inspired by a book'

Welcome to another challenge here on A Passion for Papertrey! One of my New Year's resolutions in January was to read more, if only there were more hours in the day!!

So for all you book fans today's challenge is a literary one... we're asking you to make a card inspired by a book. Any book! Or if you can't think of a book maybe it could be book-related.

This is how I interpreted the challenge - I was looking through my PTI stamps and looking for inspiration but kept on coming back to my All Booked Up set, that hasn't seen much love for a long time. I love this quote and will be sending it to a friend who loves green and loves to read:

Card Deets: (PTI unless stated)

Stamps: All Booked Up/Polka Dot Basics
Card: Stamper's Select White/Simply Chartreuse
Ink: Spring Moss/True Black
Other: Swiss Dots Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug)/Ric-Rac Die/Copic Markers

Over to Aimes:
"At first I thought I'd struggle with this challenge, but when I started to think about my favourite reads it seemed that the hardest part about the challenge was narrowing down which book to choose!

Card Deets
{let your dreams take flight}
Stamps: Happy Trails (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Rich Cocoa (Memento)/Fresh Snow (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Spring Rain (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Fine and Dandy True Blue Collection (My Mind's Eye)
Accessories: Twine, Ribbon Scraps, Clouds Die, Linen and Canvas Impression Plate (Papertrey Ink)/Cuttlebug

This card is inspired by the book, The Kite Runner, which was a book that I couldn't put down. (I'm yet to see the film; I always prefer to read the book first!) The kite was made with scraps of patterned paper and a couple pieces of scrap ribbon provided the perfect kite tail combined with a piece of twine :)"

Over to Caryn...

Well, predictable as I am the only book I could use as my inspiration is my beloved Twilight by Stephanie Meyer! I immediately thought of the book cover and out came my Fruit Fusions Apple die. Cue lots of red stickles and voila - a juicy red (and sparkly) apple. The sentiment is actually from a Walzting Mouse set but thought it was perfect for this card! I'm not sure when or why I would send this card but it may be useful around Halloween time!

{Card Deets}
Vampire Bites
Stamps: Midnight Feast (WMS)
Ink: True Black
Tools: Mega Mat Stack 4 die, Fruit Fusion: Apple die, Linen/Canvas Impression plate,
Cardstock: Vintage Cream, True Black, Pure Poppy
Other: Stickles glitter glue.

Here's what the lucky winner will win: PTI's Flower Fusion 1 set.

And here are the challenge deets:

* All entries must contain at least one PTI product to qualify (please state what is PTI as sometimes it's hard to see :D)

* All entries must be newly created (well, new to Blogland anyways!). Please don't link to old posts that might happen to fit the brief of the challenge!! Please leave a link back to this challenge on your entry too :)

* Challenge closes on Monday, February 6th 2012 at 9.00am GMT

* As well as a randomly picked winner, we'll select the top three creations we like the most and feature them on the Blog. The top three PTI Passionistas will have chance to display a Top 3 Passionista Blinkie on their own blog.

Over to Caryn ...

Hello all and Happy New Year! Hope everyone's creative juices are flowing for our new challenge! I have to say I am in a bit of a lull with my mojo at the minute and really struggled getting this card together! Winner, winner...

I dunno about you but I think I've eaten and drunk enough to last me 'til next Christmas - ha! I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas!

I'm popping by here a bit later, due to not being able to move from the sofa, to announce some winners from our past challenge. Thank you to everyone who joined us on the green Christmas - I hope you had as much fun playing with green as I do :)

So without further ado, the winner of a sweet li'l stamp set is:

Number 3 which is super lucky for Vannessa! Congrats, Vannessa! Email us your postal addy and we'll get that set out to ya.

Now for our Top 3 PTI Passionistas. Well even with the lower turnout for this challenge it was still a super tough decision to make but nevertheless, we decided:

Ingrid embraced not only gorgeous green, but her fabulous PTI dies to come up with this beauty! We love dimension the layering of the dies adds to this gorgeous card!

Steph warmed our hearts with those cute mittens hanging from the sweet holly! The sentiment ties in perfectly too :)

Shannon embraced green in the form of a gorgeous tree contrasting against navy card. The layout and colours really caught our eye and we especially loved the use of vellum for the sentiment.

Congrats, ladies! If you'd like a blinkie to blink with pride then pop us an email too and we'll get that code out to ya!

I hope you can all join us in 2012 when we kick off another year full of fun challenges :)

How about a poinsettia?

I'm dreaming of a GREEN Christmas!

Greetings all and welcome to this, our last challenge of 2011! In keeping with the festive season we're giving you another excuse to make one more Christmas card for this challenge, the only stipulation (at Aimes' insistence!) that you include green in your project.

I do love making monochromatic cards (think quick and easy for mass producing!) so made a card in green....

Card Recipe: (All supplies PTI)
Stamps: 2010 Holiday Tags/Peaceful Poinsietta
Card: New Leaf/Vintage Cream
Ink: Vintage Cream/New Leaf
Other: Mat Stack 3 Die/Vintage Cream grosgrain ribbon

... then made a few others in different colours!

Over to Aimes
"OK, I 'fess up, so I stomped my feet and demanded a challenge with green in it! But you have to admit, that a spot of green on a card is so suited to Christmas:

Card Deets
Stamps: Modern Basics, Stocking Prints, Holiday Tree (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Pure Poppy, Spring Moss (Papertrey Ink)/Fern (AMuse Ink)
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Cuttlebug/Linen and Canvas Impression Plate (Papertrey Ink)/Ribbon (from stash coloured with Promarker!)

I had an inky session playing with Modern Basics (it's finally getting some much needed inky love) and came up with a wreath. Admittedly it's a very modern, graphic wreath but I kinda like the tradition juxtaposed with the modern on this design!

I can't wait to see what gorgeous green creations you whip up to inspire us. And remember, a splash of green on a card is not only for Christmas, but for occasions all year round *wink*"

Over to Caryn...
So we thought it only fair to include a "green" touch to our challenge this week seeing how it must've been KILLING Aimes to create a card without it last time!! Not that I'm complaining, it's still a Christmas card and to be totally honest, I could do Christmas all year round!!

{recipe}
Stamps: Peasceful Poinsettia, Big and Bold Holiday Wishes, Background Basics: Music (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Pure Poppy, Spring Moss (Papertrey Ink), Versamark
Cardstock: Rustic Cream, Kraft, Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Gingham ribbon, button (PTI)

So do you like my Christmas setting? Cosy isn't it? I thought it set the foliage on the card off too! The sprigs are from the Peaceful Poinsettia set and I've paired that with the fabulous Big and Bold wishes: Holidays set. I used a kraft card base and stamped the musical background from Background Basic: Music on it. Right, off to make a few more before I miss the postal deadlines!! Looking forward to seeing your green-themed cards.

Polka Dot Snow

Hi!

I'm flying by (or should that be sliding along with today's snow and ice!) to share a card with ya:

Happy Holidays

This card could pretty much qualify for our current challenge with it's red and white combo. It's also a pretty fitting card to share on here today considering the snow and ice we've had here in the heights of the Peak District! I love snow, but I sure don't love driving in it!

Stay safe and warm wherever you are and while you're at it, why not join in this challenge too? :)

I'm Dreaming of a {Red and White} Christmas Challenge!!

Ok, we know - our last challenge was also a "Holiday" based challenge but with Christmas just around the corner and a myriad of cards and gifts still to make we thought another Holiday-inspired challenge wouldn't go amiss!

This time we're putting a colour theme into the mix and are asking you to create a Christmas/Holiday card using red and white {or cream} as your main colours. Can't wait to see what you all come up with!

For my card I automatically reached for my Stylish Sentiments:Holidays set. I love this set so much!! The base white card is stamped with snowflakes from the Tag Its #9 set in Pure Poppy and the flourish under the sentiment is from Big and Bold Holiday Wishes stamped in Versamark and then embossed in white filigree powder). I so love this colour combo :0)

Caryn xxx

Over to Kate: "I agree with Caryn, this colour combination is SO fabulous for Christmas! I came across my Rustic Snowflakes set, which sadly has been pushed to the bottom of my pile of PTI sets so grabbed my new Pure Poppy ink and gave it some inky love! It was a long wait for the first batch of new inks but they looking great so far!"

Card Recipe: (All supplies PTI)
Stamps: Rustic Snowflakes/Rustic Branches/Tiny Tags
Ink: Pure Poppy/Basic Black
Card: Vintage Cream/Pure Poppy
Other: Tiny Tags Die/Take Three Die/Pure Poppy Baker's Twine

I'm afraid our poor Aimes is suffering from a badly injured ankle after a tumble playing football (rolls eyes!!) so she will be back soon with her sample when she's able to move again!!

***Edited to add***

"I'm here *waves!* Yup, I may be on the sofa with one foot raised in some considerable pain but I'm here!

Not only am I here, but I'm also here with a red and white themed Christmas card for our super challenge:

Deck the Halls
Card Deets
Stamps: Stocking Prints (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Stocking Die, Bakers Twine (Papertrey Ink)/Felt (Craft Supply)/Cuttlebug

I decided to play with my Stocking Die for this challenge and added some texture to a very CAS card by cutting my stocking from felt.

Admittedly I did keep having the urge to add green to this combo but luckily Caryn and Kate are so right in thinking that red and white make a fab combo alone for a Christmas project. And anyways, I can also insert this into a green envie, right? *wink*"

One lovely crafty person will win this....
