Chippy Chip Chip!

Happy Bank Holiday Monday, Peeps! Y'all ready for a new challenge?! I hope so!

For this fortnight's challenge we want you to think about using Chipboard. Chipboard comes in all sorts of forms, be it chipboard letters, shapes, shapes cut out from chipboard with a die cutting machine and even Grungeboard counts as Chipboard! Don't have any chipboard?! Nonsense - just cut up a cereal box LOL!

For my example, I rooted through my stash for some 'Chippy Chip Chip' supplies and found some K&Co super sparkly letters that I'd been hoarding. No time like the present to de-hoard so I got busy:
Here's Kate: "I really struggled with this challenge! I think my mojo had gone walkies yesterday when I sat down to make my sample, but eventually I had an idea that I was quite happy with!

Rummaging through my chipboard collection I came across these wee flowers which I thought would go pretty well with this stamp from Everyday Button Bits. I coloured them with my Copics, and added a pearl to their centres. How much am I loving that Dotty Biscotti paper?!"

Recipe (all Papertrey Ink unless stated)

Stamps: Everyday Button Bits
Ink: Colorbox Chalk
Card: Kraft/Aqua Mist/Stamper' Select White
Papers: Dotty Biscotti

Other: Chipboard flowers (SU)/ric rak die/adhesive pearls (Hero Arts)

And here is the fabulous card by Marinette, our May Featured Stamper:

"On my chipboard I added dabber paint red and then glitter glue, I also added on my card 2 chipboard corners by Scenic route and American Crafts chipboard thickers Cupid"

Recipe

Stamps: Signature Greetings (PTI)
Card: Kraft
Papers: Be Loved (MME)
Other: Chipboard Maya Road/Chipboard Corner Scenic Route/Envelope Maya Road/Die Cuts Be Loved(MME)/Chipboard Thickers Cupid(American Crafts)

Thank you for all the wonderful entries to our Favourite Colour challenge! It was fabulous to see so many different colours used! I noticed that we had quite a few lovers of Kraft and Pink and that some of you found this challenge a toughie - don't worry, saying a colour is your favourite won't hurt any of your other colours - I promise!

So we have a winner, drum roll please......

....Vicki! Congratulations Vicki! Please email your postal address to apassionforpapertrey@yahoo.co.uk and we'll send your prize asap!

Now onto our Top 3 PTI Passionistas. I won't lie, it took Kate and I a loooooong time to narrow it down to just 3 but after a lot of ooooohing and ahhhhing we finally decided on the following:

Chupa - we instantly fell in love with Chupa's fabulous use of Dot Spot; that white embossing really makes it 'pop' against the Hawaiian Shores card! And who can resist the cute pairing of that colour with some sweet pink buttons - adorable!

Hanne - We loved the pairing of two neutral colours to create this baby gift set - suitable for both a boy or a girl! The idea to recreate the card on the bag makes it coordinate beautifully!

Aga - what a fabulous CAS card! It's so clean and fresh with those shades of green combined with the white. We loved how circular panel only showed a part of an image leaving the last panel for the sentiment - what a fabulous design!

Congrats ladies, if you fancy a blinkie for your blog then email us at apassionforpapertrey@yahoo.co.uk and we'll email you the code!

Thanks again to everyone who entered, we loved each and every entry! Stay tuned for our new challenge coming up very soon.....

I'm sharing a card with you today that I made for my fellow crafty peep, Emma's birthday which was last Thursday.

Butterfly Birthday

Hey!

I'm so sorry at the lack of posts here at the moment - I'm not gonna bore you with excuses but lets just say that life is VERY busy at the moment!

And just when I think I can see some free time with the half term approaching, I end up getting sick! I'm off work now feeling so groggy and curled up with just a laptop for company seeing as no-one will come within a mile of me! At least you can't get my germs via the internet so it hasn't stopped me being able to share a card with you today...

Admittedly this card was made a while ago, I'm still playing catch up uploading some I made ages ago! This one was a birthday card commissioned by a friend (and work colleague) and it needed to be pretty flat. If you recognise the butterflies stamped like this then you'll have seen it on Nichole Heady's blog with this card. I love the solid images overlapping and the effect of using alcohol markers directly onto kraft cardstock!

Card Recipe
Stamps: Butterfly Dreams
Ink: Fresh Snow/Dark Chocolate/Antique Linen Distress Ink
Cardstock: Kraft/Ripe Avocado
Paper: Bitty Box Basics Ripe Avocado
Accessories: Jute Ribbon Twine

Before I go for another honey and lemon, I just thought I'd share with you what the prize will be for our current challenge. If you fancy playing along you could win....

One sheet of each design from the Green Boutique pattern paper pad (6 sheets in total)

AND

A whole roll of grosgrain ribbon in the delicious Hawaiian Shores colour!

I hope that gets you tempted to play along before our challenge ends on Monday!

Right I'm off to dose up on some medicine...bleurgh!

Your Favourite Colour!!

Welcome to another Passion for Papertrey challenge! This time we're going to ask a very simple question.... what's your favourite colour?!!

And then of course make a card using your top choice - the colour doesn't have to be a Papertrey Ink colour if you don't have all the colours, but, as always, must include at least one PTI product :)

Anyone who knows me no doubt is aware of my obsession with all things Aqua and Turquoise so it was a toss up between Aqua Mist and Hawai'in Shores - Aqua Mist has always been my favourite colour but it got some serious competition when I received my Hawai'in Shores colour! Torn between the two I decided to go with the newest addition to my colour collection :)

Recipe:

Stamps: Asian Fusion/Polka Dot Basics/Mega Mixed Messages
Card - Hawai'in Shores/Stampers Select White/True Black
Ink - Hawai'in Shores/True Black
Other - Corner Chomper

Over to Aimes:
"Well I'm not gonna surprise any of ya! Anyone who knows me, knows that my all time favourite colour is green. Pretty much any shade of green will float my boat. Not that I don't love any other colours, just that if I had to pick only one then without a doubt, it'd be green! So without further ado, here's my example:"

Card Recipe
Stamps: Background Basics: Text Style/Turning a New Leaf/Friends 'til the End
Ink: Distress Ink Antique Linen/PTI Spring Moss
Card: Kraft/Vintage Cream
Papers: Bitty Box Basics/Turning a New Leaf
Accesories: EK Success Border Punch/Dark Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon/Sewing Machine/3D Foam Pads

As our featured stamper this month, Marinette couldn't choose between her two favourtie colours: Red and Kraft! So she did what any other crafty peep would do and use both LOL!

Supplies:
PTI kraft and Pure Poppy, Ink Pure Poppy, tiny tag "Birthday Wishes" stamped with "Mega mixed Messages", stamp PTI "Happy Birthday "Say it with style" , PTI "heart print" ink pure poppy, stamp PTI "delightful dahlia" ink pure poppy

Chair-ishing my stamps!

Hey!

Happy Monday! Sorry I've been a little MIA from the Papertrey Blog recently, I won't bore you with the excuses but I only wish there were more hours in the day to get inky :(

With what time I have found, I've been busy and whipped up a card that isn't my usual style but is still full of PTI goodies :D

Kinda bold, kinda quirky...I kinda like it!

I was staring at a noticeboard the other day and thought, "Hey, I bet I could re-create that on a card!" Yes, 'tis true that my hobby is an obsession that is constantly on my mind!

The bit I love the most is that the tag on my card is removable! So y'never know you may just receive it back from the friend you gave the card to!

And just one more little tip, the pattern on the chair was created from the stem stamp in my Remember set. I love trying to squeeze out every last penny from my supplies!

Wishing you all a wonderful week! If you've got any time on your hands, there's still time to enter our Friends Challenge! Thanks so much for your entries so far, they're fabulous as always!

Challenge: Friends!

Hey!

Happy Monday (bank holiday Monday for us here today - woo hoo!) I hope y'all ready for a fun new challenge?!

For this fortnight's challenge we want you to create something with a friend in mind...

For my example for this challenge, I won't surprise anyone by saying I inked up my Friends 'til the End stamp set! Though I was determined to not use the flowers as I always do in that set and instead focus on the words:

I'm hoping that this could almost pass for a masculine card with those colours, though is it too slushy to send a guy a 'friend' card?

Card Recipe
Stamps: Friends 'til the End
Ink: Versamark/Dark Chocolate/Scarlet Jewel/Antique Linen Distres Ink
Cardstock: Kraft/Scarlet Jewel/Ripe Avocado
Accessories: Ripe Avocado Ribbon/Jute Ribbon Twine/Dark Chocolate Button/Cuttlebug/Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Over to Kate: "For my sample I reached for my beautiful In Bloom set, it's just the most gorgeous set to colour and is going to a very special friend :) I don't think you can tell from the picture but the flower is super glittery!

Recipe:
Stamps - In Bloom
Card - Kraft/Aqua Mist
Ink - Memento Black
Other - Copic Sketch Markers/Glitter/EK Success border punch

And as our featured stamper this month, here's Marinette's fabulous take on the challenge:

Papers: Bazill kraft, papers Turning a new leaf by Papertrey Ink,
Stamps: Papertrey Ink Delightful Dahlia/Daily Designs/Tiny Tag "Friend" from Mixed Messages

So here are the deets:

* All entries must contain at least one PTI product to qualify

* To enter, use our inlinkz thingy at the bottom of this post. If you're having problems then just leave a comment with a link to your post featuring the project on your blog or online gallery.

* Worldwide entries are more than welcome to share the inspiration and can be in with a chance of being a Top 3 PTI Passionista, but unfortunately prizes can only be shipped within Europe!

So start thinking 'friend', Peeps and go get inky!

A Winner!

Firstly, thank you soooooooooo much from the bottom of our hearts for all the fabulous entries for our past challenge! I was amazed by how many entries we had and how cleverly you all incorporated flowers into your projects with so many different techniques!

Anyways, lets pick a winner shall we?! Drumroll please.....

Here are your random numbers:

So number 9 is Margaret C! Congrats Margaret! Please send us your postal addy to apassionforpapertrey@yahoo.co.uk and we'll post you some PTI goodies!

Now onto our Top 3 PTI Passionistas...well what a toughie it was with such a high number of fabulous floral-featuring creations! But we narrowed it down to the following (in no particular order):

Ann - we loved the concept behind this creation! If you look closely you'll see that this is no ordinary card....this sweet interactive card lets you play with a 'wand' as you let a dragonfly fly from flower to flower! Oh so sweet!

Antje - not only did we love the fabulous clean stamping on this card, but the aperture design is such a fabulous addition. It adds a real focal point to the whole card!

Lucy - well this flower just took our breath away! Talk about the flower taking the spotlight! Such a fabulous design and what a gorgeous flower to feature!

Congrats ladies! If you wish to feature our PTI Top 3 Blinkie on your own blogs then feel free to pop us an email for the code!

Now stay tuned for our new challenge coming up very (and I mean very!) soon...

Featured Stamper!

Hey!

The skies are blue, the sun is out, it's a bank holiday weekend and more importantly it's the first of May which means it's time to introduce our featured stamper for this month!

Just before we do however, we'd like to thank Dana for being our fabulous featured stamper for April - we loved your work (especially the plaid stamping - what a fab idea!)

So without further ado our featured stamper this month is....

Marinette!

We asked Marinette a few questions to get to know her a little better...

1)How did you get into papercrafting?

I started scrapbooking in September 2007, completely by chance! I was taking part in a forum dedicated to mothers and one of the member scrapbooked really beautifully and the more I saw her creations the more I wanted to begin this activity.

My debuts were not very simple but with a lot of help and research I finally did my first creations.

2)How long have you been stamping for?

Stamping is a very recent passion in my scrapbooking activity, it's been a year since I stamped for the first time and to be honest before then stamps didn't attract me very much.

It was visiting blogs that I made up my mind and from this moment there is always a stamp on my layouts or in my cards.

3)How did you get into PTI and why do you love it so much?

I discovered Papertrey Ink in November. I was visiting the blogs of my friends Ingrid Danvers and Hanneke van der Linde and, to be frank, I fell totally in love with Papertrey products, which are very unique of what we can find here in Europe.

4)What would you say is your stamping style?

I have no stamping style, but I love tearing my papers and I add quite often black pen lines!

5)Do you have a favourite PTI colour or colour combo that just makes you drool?

Very tough question, but I will answer their kraft paper.

6)If you had to choose just one PTI stamp set to keep, which one would it be and why?

Very tough question too, but I will answer « Signature Greetings », a Dawn Mc Vey's stamp set, I love it, every single stamp is just fabulous!

7)Who is your PTI Idol?

Dawn Mc Vey because she has such a superb style, I love all her creations, they are so elegant and refined, she is so talented.

8)Where do you get your inspiration from?

From everywhere, but mainly from paper collections, I love combining colours, it inspires me very much.

9)What’s your stamping dream?

I have no stamping dream. Taking part in a DT doesn't attract me that much, I rarely participate in challenges, I don't like obligations. It depends on my needs and I would like always to be inspired, that inspiration could be present always, because without inspiration I know for sure that scrapbooking will be over for me...

10)Where can we go to check out more of your wonderful creations?

Exclusively on my blog
http://aucoeurdespages.blogspot.com

And you can find most of my creations on the gallery of the Swiss forum Scrapdeco:
http://www.scrapdeco.com/galerie/index.php?cat=11985

Thanks so much Marinette for letting us get to know you! I'm sure you'll give Marinette a warm welcome and look forward to seeing what she creates!

Oooh and if you've got a spare moment this bank holiday weekend, there's still time to check out our current challenge *wink*

Have a fabby weekend, peeps!
